Lauretta Marie Kuster

Lauretta Marie (Beumel) Kuster, 84, of Bloomington passed away at her residence on Monday, April 10, 2017.

Lauretta, the daughter of Nicholas T. and Henrietta (Kress) Beumel, was born in Tell City, Indiana on September 16, 1932. She was married to Donal L. Kuster until his passing in October of 2007. Lauretta was a ECA Treasurer and manager of the bookstore at Edgewood High School until her retirement after 30 years of working to provide for her family. She was a former member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Spencer and more recently became a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. Lauretta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The Reeves Club, Tri Kappa, and the Rebekah Lodge. She loved flowers and tending to her gardens. Lauretta loved nature but most of all birds, enjoying feeding them and watching through her windows. Her love of animals brought great comfort and joy to her life. She resided at Bell Trace for 9 years where each and every resident and staff member became a part of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donal L. Kuster and sister, Jean Lee Montgomery.

Lauretta will be missed by her loving daughters, Cheryl Jenkins and husband, David of Bloomington, and Debra Egemo of Spencer; special grandchildren, Trevor Powell and wife, Stephanie, Ashley Kelly and husband Brent, Lindsay Knez and husband, Frank, and Tyler Egemo; great-grandchildren she was so proud of, Ezekiel Powell, Zoe Powell, Zane Powell, Maclaren Kelly, Davis Kelly, Margot Kelly, Luella Kelly, Franklin Knez, Asher Knez, Oscar Knez, and Calvin Nixon; sister-in-law, Betty Seibert of Bloomington, and brother-in-law, James Montgomery of Bloomington.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bloomington with interment to follow at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Monroe County Humane Society.
