Wayne Freeman Kile

Wayne Freeman Kile, age 90, of Bloomington, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, November 27, 2016.

Born October 21, 1926 in Mishawaka, he was the son of Walter and Helen Freeman Kile. Wayne was raised on a 40-acre farm near Bremen, IN and graduated from Bremen High School. Wayne, a World War II veteran, enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1944, and attended Purdue University until being shipped to the Philippine Islands where he served until being discharged in Nov. 1946. Wayne married his wife of 54 years, Faye Lois Clark, on November 12, 1949 at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren in North Liberty, IN. From 1952-1955 Wayne operated and managed a Mobile Service Station in Plymouth, IN. In 1956 he was offered the opportunity to operate and manage the automotive machine shop for Schrader's Automotive in Kokomo which he pursued for the next 32 years. Wayne opened his own automotive machine shop for 4 additional years before moving to Southern Indiana. Wayne and Faye raised a family of 5 children, were very involved in the Kokomo Church of the Brethren, Northwestern Lion's Club, and supported other Christian organizations in the area. Wayne and Faye retired and relocated to Bloomington which was the base from which they spent their remaining years nurturing and supporting their grandchildren in Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Michigan/Pennsylvania.

Wayne is survived by his sons; Nickie W. Kile (Janee) and William C. Kile (Lori) all of Bloomington; daughters, Rebecca L. Keppel of Danville, Peggy J. Marlin (fiancé, Paul Waite) of Beaver Creek, PA; and Sally A. Kile of Bloomington; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye in 2003; sisters, Maxine and Barbara; and one brother, Glen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Fair Cemetery in Lapaz, IN with a committal service at 11:30 a.m.
