Betty M. Grubb, 93, passed away peacefully at Hearthstone Health Campus on Valentines Day, Wednesday, February 14, 2018 with her family by her side.
Betty was born on November 20, 1924 to Ralph and Alice Stines of Ellettsville. She attended Ellettsville School where she met and later married her childhood sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Grubb in 1944. Betty worked several jobs in her life from Wife, Mother, 30 years at Westinghouse and most memorably, working with Bob at the Frozen Custard in the early 1960’s. Betty and Bob loved to travel all over the country from Alaska to Hawaii with many destinations in between. She also enjoyed collecting antiques along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Maurice and Harold Stines.
Betty is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Bob Grubb; two daughters, Sandra Sanders and Diana (Roger) Somes; three grandsons, Jeff Sanders, Eric (Jennifer) Somes and Evan Somes.; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Drew Somes.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of both Hearthstone Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving care and patience. Betty loved each and every one of her caregivers and they only showed love and kindness for her.
Visitation will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home following visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Baker officiating. Burial is at Chambersville Cemetery.
