David Lewis Hough of Ellettsville passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Hearthstone Health Campus. He was 82 years old.
The son of Benton E. and Ina B. (Roberts) Hough, he was born in Monroe County on August 26, 1935. He was a 1955 graduate of Stinesville High School. David was a heavy machine operator with the Ellettsville Utilities Department for over 30 years. An avid outdoorsman, David loved to fish with his fellow workers and friends. He also enjoyed trapping and hunting, especially deer.
David is survived by his siblings, Ina Kay Summitt (Gary) of Ellettsville, James Hough (Iva Lee) of Spencer; Mary Hough of Spencer, and Donna Covey (Bud) of Bloomington; five nephews, Brad, Grant, and Taylor Hough and Aaron and Chris Covey; and four nieces, Caryl Young, Cheryl Amerman, Alice Dreischarf, and Jama McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Hough.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Pastor Steve Baker officiating. Burial is to follow at Gross Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
