David R. Mobley, 79 of Spencer passed away at Monroe Hospital on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
He was born in Bloomington, Indiana on June 4, 1940 into the home of Fred and Jenny (Bradley) Mobley. He married Donna (Hartgraves) Mobley in 1957. In his earlier years David worked as a truck driver for Clairemont Trucking and was also an employee of Spriggs Dairy. He was a deputy sheriff for a short time with the Monroe County Sheriffs Department and was a NFO Representative. A proud farmer, David retired after 30 years of working on his dairy farm. He enjoyed coon hunting and restoring tractors.
David is survived by his Wife, Donna Mobley of Spencer; Children, Dixie Mobley of Spencer, Darla (sidekick, Peanut Newton) Mobley of Poland and Danny (Elizabeth) Mobley of Morgantown; Grandchildren, Jesse (Lauren) Mobley, Jake (Amanda) Mobley, Joshua (Lindsey) Mobley, Branden Mobley; Great-Grandchildren, JD Mobley, Hannah Mobley, Megan Mobley, James Mobley, Lillian Mobley, and Gracie Mobley; Sister, Joanne Massengill of Greenwood and Brother, Leslie (Annabelle) Mobley of Bloomington and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Jenny Mobley; Father, Fred Mobley; and siblings, Dorothy Baxter, Virgil Mobley, Arthur Mobley, Alan Mobley, and Irene Fitzgerald.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Rev Mark Villanova officiating. Burial is to follow at Duncan Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
