Franklin “Frank” V. McClure, 72, of Bloomington passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Frank, the son of Virgil and Grace (McKinney) McClure, was born on July 25, 1945 in Putnam County, Indiana. He worked as a laborer with Hall Signs and JB Salvage along with many other companies. Frank’s passion was working on classic cars and traveling to attend any car show that he could. He especially enjoyed his “Purple Passion” 34 Plymouth Coupe. He loved to attend flea markets where he would look for antiques, coins, and Coca Cola items to add to his collections. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be sorely missed by all his family.
Frank is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Wanda (Hillenburg) McClure; children, Frank Miller (Debbie), Donald Purtlebaugh (Tonya), James Purtlebaugh (Tammie), Hope Purtlebaugh, Elizabeth Stratton (Rob), and Angel Smith (Lane) all of Bloomington; forty-four grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Hatfield (Art) of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angie Starbuck (Ted); sister, Jewel Hunsicker and brothers, Tim McClure and Jack McClure (Sylvia).
There will be no services at this time per Frank’s wishes. Cremation services entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville.
