Jennifer Jill Burrell, 49, died Saturday morning, February 10, 2018 in Bloomington, IN.
She was born July 2, 1968, in Louisville, KY to Gary Alan and Pamela Rose Burrell. At the age of 2 she moved with her missionary parents, her older brother and younger sister to Brazil, South America.
She is a 1985 graduate of Colégio Objetivo High School and she received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1990. Jennifer also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jennifer was a beloved daughter, sister and mother. She devoted her adult life to her daughters Natasha Burrell Ribeiro and Nicole Burrell Ribeiro - her pride and joy. The happiest times in her life were spent on the sandy dunes of the Araguaia River in central Brazil and on the golden coastal beaches of Brazil. When given the opportunity, Jennifer’s adventurous spirit sought the thrills of hand gliding, skydiving and SCUBA.
Jennifer is survived by her daughters; parents; siblings, Timothy Burrell, Amy Burrell, Juliana Burrell all of Bloomington, Jonathan Burrell of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Flávia Burrell, Dorothy Burrell; brother-in-law Russ Clinton; nieces, Camilla and Amanda Burrell, Lena and Isla Burrell Weber; nephews, Victor Burrell, Joseph and Nicholas Burrell Ermey, Jonathan Burrell; aunt, Dawn (Burrell) McDavid; uncles Ivan Burrell, Jack McDavid; and former husband Marco Túlio Ribeiro.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Eugene Schiappacasse of Detroit, MI, Ralph and Ann (Street) Hampton, Roy and Virginia (White) Burrell; uncle Timothy Hampton all of Erwin, TN.
Jennifer was baptized into Christ on July 28, 1981 and attended Ellettsville Christian Church. Those wishing to honor her may do so by contributing to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.NAMI.org).
A memorial service celebrating Jennifer’s life will be held Saturday, February 17 at 11 a.m. in the Ellettsville Christian Church sanctuary, 731 Independence St., Ellettsville, IN.
