Mabel A. Lawyer, 90, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Bloomington Hospice House.
Born in Greene County on October 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elsie Hudson. Mabel was a member of Liberty Church of Christ in Hendricksville, Indiana. Mabel had been a beautician since 1963 and made many women beautiful in her shop Komb and Kurl for 32 years. She met her husband George while working at RCA. Mabel enjoyed visiting the nursing homes, listening to gospel music, reading her Bible and watching her flowers grow. She also loved to watch the birds and hummingbirds that were feeding outside her window.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, George L. Lawyer; daughters, Alice Joan (Charles) Christy and Patty J. Daniel all of Ellettsville and Diane S. Butler of Bloomington; grandchildren, Shelly (Scott) Gleyze of Ellettsville, Laura (Aaron) Wood of Muncie, Janice Ozbun of Taylorsville, Justin (Jamie) Daniel of Avon, Robert G. Belcher and Tiffany J. Belcher both of Bloomington; eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Paul) Kinser and sister-in-law, Shirley Hudson and several nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Delbert Hudson and Lester Hudson.
Funeral services will be held at Liberty Church of Christ of Hendricksville, 12884 East Mcville Rd. Solsberry, IN 47459 on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Keevin Gray and Justin Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Hendricksville. Visitation will be at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
