Our dear Mother and friend, Martha A. Baker, 80, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 peacefully in her sleep.
She was born November 8, 1937 in Bloomington, Indiana to Martha and Chester Buchanan. She graduated from Ellettsville High School and lived in and around Ellettsville Indiana her whole life marrying Max Leroy Baker in June of 1956. A devoted employee she retired from Monroe County Clerk of Court’s Office as a Deputy Clerk in the traffic division on September 30, 2010. Marcy loved spending time with her family and friends, sewing and knitting for family and friends, going out to lunch with friends, collecting angel figurines, and especially loved taking many road trips with her sister in law Jan.
She leaves behind her daughter, Catherine Wagner (Timothy Wagner) and son, Jeffery Baker; sister-in-law, Janet Buchanan; five grandchildren, Joe (Danielle) Wagner, Adam (Amber) Wagner, Kristin (Kevin) Kruyer, Christina (Will) Martin, and Dakota (Kyle) Baker, and four great- grandchildren, Avery and Anna Wagner, Arianna and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Baker; two sons, Chris and Burt Baker, and her mother, Martha Staudt; her father, Chester Buchanan; step-father, Hugh Staudt, along with one brother, Fred Buchanan and sister Nancy Yeiter.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with inurnment at Presbyterian Cemetery. Visiting with the family will be on Saturday from Noon until the time of services.
