Michael L. Stiglitz of Bloomington, formerly of East Chicago, IN died at Bloomington Hospice House suddenly surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
He was the son of Carmella (Locascio) and Frank Stiglitz of E. Chicago. He was a barber in E. Chicago for 17 years and then a manager of Club Ki-Yowgo Inc until he retired. He then moved to Bloomington to be near his children and grandchildren. Michael was an avid sportsman who enjoyed coaching little league and youth baseball and also bowling and golf.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Romanak) Stiglitz; always a grateful and proud father of Michael A. Stiglitz and friend Christi Brandvold of Bloomington, Tony Stiglitz and friend Sara Bell of Chapel Hill, N.C, and Dr. Lori Stiglitz and spouse Jack Novak of Bloomington. Also blessed and honored to have grandchildren, Katie and Andy Alvares of Columbus, IN, Dr. Amy Richmond and friend, Josh Stevens of Missoula, MT and Second Lieutenant Benny Richmond of Albuquerque, NM. His brother, Frank and spouse Rita Stiglitz of Highland, IN and Richard and spouse Sandy Stiglitz of Crown Point, IN and sister-in-law, Ruth Komacsar of Highland, IN. He also leaves behind his life-long best friend, Bill Ferris and spouse Joan of Hiles, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother and father in law, Rose and Rudy Romanak.
Funeral services for Michael are private. In Michael's memory, donations may be give to a charity of your choice.
