Pamela Bayne 61, passed away on Tuesday, June 5th, at her home. She was the wife of Tim Bayne. They shared 41 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in Bloomington, Indiana she was the daughter of Shirley Cowden and Robert Mitchener. She was a graduate of Owen Valley High School. She went on to be the owner and operator of the Stinesville Merchantile and Post Office for many years where she was a friend to every person that walked through her door. She loved to read and travel and liked nothing better than to sit and watch the trees wave, waves crash, and sunset. She was a superior speaker talking with those afflicted with cancer and disease and talking on multiple occasions to medical students about the true effects of cancer and treating the patient and not the disease.
She will be remembered for her friendship and loyalty to friends and strangers alike, who never stayed strangers for long. She had a natural ability to see the good in the world and people around her, even when none was evident to others. She will be missed for her ability to help others in any way that she could give money, food, or just a kind ear to listen with to friend and stranger alike; Or the community around her that she dearly loved.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tim Bayne; son, Bill and wife Sarah; grandkids, Connor and Caitlyn; sister, Beth and husband Ritchie; niece, Brooklyn and husband David; step-father, Ed Ray; step-sister, Adrianne and husband Ed and their children; step-sister, Barbara and husband Clay and their children. She also leaves behind a community and town that loved her dearly and all will miss her immeasurably.
Services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Thursday, June 7th at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Chambersville Cemetery. Friends may visit with Pamela's family at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
