Rebecca Jean Carter Franklin, 69, of Spencer passed away at her residence on Monday evening, November 25, 2019.
She was born November 15, 1950 in Bloomington to Gene and Thelma (Pat) Carter of Stinesville. Becky started working at RCA Bloomington at the age of 17 and after leaving RCA after 20 years she went to work at Cook Medical in Spencer where she retired after 30 years of service.
Becky never met a stranger; she was a people person who loved and cared deeply for those that were lucky enough to know her. She had a huge heart and loved to share her love of life with those who knew her. Becky would be the first to help those in need. She was a huge supporter of many organizations and her dedication to “once a quarry lad always a quarry lad” was often seen when it came to Stinesville, her hometown. She loved her hometown and the friendships she gained from there. She loved to travel with her family and friends whether it was exploring new places or revisiting the places that brought joy to her life. Becky will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
Becky is survived by her best friend and companion for over 30 years, Terry Webb of Spencer; daughter, Michelle Carter of Stuart FL; grandson, Carter Dyar and his father Eric Dyar both of Bluffton OH: 3 sisters, Sherry Smith of Ellettsville, Vickie Carter of Spring Hill, FL and Carrie (Rick) Simpson of Stinesville; Aunt, Uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins and her friends she cherished.
Viewing will be Friday at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Muncie officiating. Becky will be laid to rest at Gosport Cemetery.
