Roger L Milholland, 77 of Bloomington, IN joined his wife Ruth in Heaven on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by his family.
Born in Beech Grove, Indiana on January 4, 1942, Roger was the son of Lowell and Clara (Moreland) Milholland. Roger moved to the Ellettsville area in 1952 and graduated from Ellettsville High School in 1960. Roger also graduated from Indiana University in 1996 after taking classes in his spare time over 36 years. He married Ruth (Rademacher) Milholland in 1962. He started his career at Sears and Roebuck in the sales department and worked his way up to the service department, retiring after 33 years. Roger then began working at South Central Hardware for 15 years until his full retirement. Roger worshipped at the Ellettsville First United Methodist Church and shared his love of music with the congregation as a member of the choir. He also shared his love of music by being a member of the IU Marching 100. Roger served his community as a member of the Ellettsville Town Board from 1972-1976 and prior to that he was a volunteer Firefighter for the Ellettsville Fire Department from 1965-1976. He enjoyed word search puzzles and loved his family deeply and after Ruth's passing his grandchildren were his life.
Roger is survived by his son, Branton Milholland (Jacque) of Indianapolis; daughters. Jennifer Duncan (Dennis) of Bloomington and LeAnne Kinser of Ellettsville; sister, Charlotte Welter of TX; grandchildren, Allison Milholland, Rachel Kinser, Braden Kinser, Nolan Trisler, and Melina Duncan; great-grandchild, Payton Kinser; brother-in-law, Larry Rademacher (Betty); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; and nephew, Rex Rademacher.
Roger selected burial with Chandler Funeral Home with services on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Noon at the funeral home. Visitation will be Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Methodist Cemetery.
