Steven D. Settle of Bloomington passed away at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the age of 69.
Steve was born on June 27, 1949 to Victor and Marie (Owens) Settle in Columbus, Indiana. Steve worked in his Father’s jewelry store, Victor Settle Jewelry in Bloomington where he was a watchmaker using his immense talent to repair and manufacture watches for many customers of the store. He was a member of the Freemason Bloomington Lodge 22 and also a member of the Scottish Rite, Stonebelt Shrine Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Steve belonged to the American Watchmaker-Clock Maker Institute. He founded and was President of the Option for Better Living organization.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor and wife, Dianne Settle.
Steve is survived by his children, Greg Settle (Regina); Marcy Settle and Brandi Liford (Kenny); grandchildren, Brad Settle, Chase Crafton, Clayton Settle, Wes Settle, and Emily Liford; mother, Marie Settle; brother, John Settle; sisters, Joanna Howe (Richard) and Barbara Hays (Rob); and longtime companion, Charlotte Porter.
Memorial Services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Brent Cramer officiating. Friends may call upon the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services. Cremation and service arrangements provided by Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville.
