Edith Stamm Haselmann of Bloomington, passed away at her home on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 87.
Edith was born in Leahrte, Germany on July 20, 1929. She had one brother, Gunther, and lived in Hannover most of her life. She immigrated to America in 1959 on the maiden voyage of the Bremen Ship. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1964 and lived in New Jersey for 12 years. She worked with children for 5 years, then worked as a bookkeeper at Rahway Lumber Company for 7 years. She married Robert Haselmann in 1972 and was married for 37 years. Edith and Robert moved to Bloomington in 1975 when Robert retired. Edith volunteered with Bloomington Worldwide Friendship helping international IU students, and Area Ten Agency as a representative payee. Edith enjoyed meeting new people, helping others, caring for her pets, and visiting with her many friends.
Edith is survived by her step-son, Ralph Haselmann and his wife Kathleen and her four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; her step-daughters, Doris Mount and Jeanne Hanna; her step-son-in-law, Bruce Hanna; her grandson, Ralph Haselmann, Jr., and one brother.

At Edith's request, there will be no services at this time. Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with the arrangements.
