Judith K. Seigle, 82, of Spencer passed away at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
She was born on November 15, 1935 in Gosport to Harley F. and Hazel Marie (Secrest) Black. Judith retired from G.E. in 1994 after working for more than 20 years in assembly and quality control. After retirement she worked at the Gosport Value Market giving service with a smile and always a kind word. Judith was a member of the Republican Party of Owen County serving as a Vice Chairman and earning a Sagamore of the Wabash award from the Governor for her commitment to the community. She, her husband James, and her family were past caretakers of the Gosport Cemetery performing grounds maintenance, selling plots, and arranging services for families. She was a member of the Gosport Baptist Church. Judith was a lifelong Owen County resident and loved living in Gosport and Spencer.
Judith is lovingly remembered by her sons, Andy L. Seigle of Spencer, James Robert Seigle and wife Judy of Plainfield, and Zane A. Seigle and wife Lisa of Spencer; daughters, Patricia L. Frye of Spencer, and Kelly J. Seigle of Spencer; grandchildren, Jocelyn Frye, Chad Seigle, Amanda Seigle, and Hannah Seigle; great-grandchildren, Jazmin Frye and J.D. McIntosh and honorary grandchildren, Colton Correll and Hunter Correll.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James E. Seigle (June 4, 1997); brother, Gene Black, and grandchild, Jessica Seigle.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Billy Williams and Rev. David Black officiating. Burial is to follow at Gosport Cemetery. Friends may call upon the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
