Patricia Ann “Patty” Halstead, 67, passed over to see her sweet Jesus quietly with her family surrounding her on Friday, August 31, 2018.
She was born to Bert D. Halstead and Lena F. Ray (Johnson) on October 22, 1950. Patty attended Hunter Elementary and Bloomington High School South. She worked for Stonebelt in Bloomington and Bedford. To know Patty was a blessing, she had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile. The world knew a true angel. She was a glorious Christian and attended many area churches. Patty was living at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center and the family would like to express their gratitude to the staff for the loving care they gave Patty. A special thank you is given to her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Bob for the unconditional love and care of Patty after her Mother’s passing. They took her in their home and gave the love and care she needed. She loved Beverly dearly and often called her Mom.
Patty is survived by her siblings, Beverly J. Summitt (Bob), Robert A. Halstead (Kathy) and Roy E. Halstead. Also surviving are her nephew and niece, Randy Summitt (Anna) and Terry Dodds (Steve) who were her caregivers. Patty also had many other nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends that will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Charles Ray; brothers, Monte Williams, Jerry B. Halstead, George Williams, Lester Halstead, and Jack Halstead; sisters, Violet J. Williams and Betty L. Stone; nephews, Lester Joe Halstead, Samuel Halstead; niece, Tammy Williams; grandparents, Claude and Stella Johnson and Mineard and Anna Halstead and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport with burial to follow at Ridgeport Cemetery in Ridgeport, IN. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday.
