Virgil Wayne Moore, 54, of Bloomington passed away at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Wayne was born on February 23, 1965 in Bloomington to the late Virgil and Dora (Phillips) Moore. He worked in the paving industry for 39 years, most recently with Arnold Asphalt. Wayne enjoyed antiques, “picking”, and restoring Schwinn bicycles he would find. He was an avid coin collector also. His grandson Kaden was always a source of joy for Wayne.
The family would like to thank Bloomington Police Department, BHAS EMT’s and the Emergency Room Staff at Bloomington Hospital for all the loving care provided to Wayne and his family.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Margaret (Gardner) Moore of Williams; daughters, Lyndsey Swan (Jake Hall) of Indianapolis, and Kirstin Moore of Bloomington; grandson, Kaden Moore; siblings, Rita James (Jerrell) and Glenda Moore all of Bloomington; nieces, Cheryl Robertson (Shane) of Bloomington, Sheri Hamm of Greenwood and Kerri Hamm (David Ash) of Bloomington; nephew, Jason Moore (Ashlie) of Bloomington; four great-nephews and one great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Moore; sister-in-law, Joyce Moore; sister, Jeanie Lawson; nephew, Harold Gene Hamm and step-father, James Adams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Dalton performing the service.
